Founded in 2013 by Blake Hales and Tyler Thomas, Cutting Edge CNC has grown from a relentless night-shift startup into a premier 15,000 square foot precision machine shop in Ogden, Utah. Engineered for Extremes
Our 15,000 sq. ft. Ogden facility houses state-of-the-art vertical mills, twin-pallet horizontal machining centers, and dual-spindle turning centers ready for complex aerospace, defense, medical, and automotive programs.
Continuous Production
Engineered for high-volume and lights-out machining without setup downtime. Equipped with twin pallet workholding systems, full 4th-axis rotary indexing, and Renishaw wireless probing to machine complex multi-sided aerospace castings and billet blocks in a single operation.
High Precision Mills
Heavy-duty vertical milling with work envelopes up to 20″ × 25″ × 50″. Featuring automated wireless probing, high-pressure through-spindle coolant, and rigid tapping for tight tolerance aerospace alloys.
Multi-Axis Turning
Twin spindles across all turning machines allow back-end machining and part transfer in-cycle. Live tooling enables cross-drilling, keyways, and complex milling up to 3.5″ through-spindle bar capacity.
AS9100 Metrology
Climate-controlled inspection department equipped with automated Coordinate Measuring Machines (500 × 500 × 500mm), optical comparators, surface profilometers, and full AS9102 First Article Inspection reports.
Turned & Milled
Complex components combining precision multi-lead threads, gear teeth, internal fluid bores, and milled wrench flats produced in single clamping cycles on our dual-spindle live tooling machines.
Certified Quality Management
Rigorous design-for-manufacturability review, Mastercam toolpath optimization, and simulation to eliminate chatter and maximize cycle efficiency.
Machined on twin-pallet HMCs or dual-spindle turning centers with wireless in-process Renishaw probing to catch variations in real-time.
Calibrated touch-probe CMM verification, optical comparator checks, surface roughness testing, and complete AS9102 First Article Inspection.
Complete Certificate of Conformance (CofC), raw material mill test reports (MTRs), secure packaging, and on-time shipment to your facility.
